I’m Jill, owner of One Forty Films.

A little bit about me outside of my business: I was literally born in a closet because I surprised my mom while she was getting dressed. I am allergic to peanuts and get the ~pleasure~ of using my EpiPen and then going to the ER once a year. My deepest value is making every situation in life fun and not taking life too seriously. Car breaks down on the side of the road? We can make that fun. Some of my favorite people are the ones that you don’t love right off the bat but grow on you over time- hidden gems if you will. I’m skeptical of people that are overly nice or charming. I have fantastic arms. I am obsessed with mountain biking, it genuinely makes me giggle like a school girl. One of my biggest insecurities is not feeling like I’m creative enough. One of my biggest strengths is taking risks and believing that I can figure anything out. This caption is me working on being unapologetically me, even on my business page.

This one is special. I was particularly excited to

This one is special. I was particularly excited to take this project on because Emma & Grace holds a special place in my heart- I bought my wedding dress from them 3 years ago. The goal was to tell the story of the careful thought, precision and intentionality behind the design of each of the gowns in their in-house label, Kindred.

When Emma and Grace reached out to me, they had an annual fashion show coming up to reveal the incredible gowns that they had been crafting and creating behind the scenes for the past year. I only had 3 weeks to ideate, script, film and edit this one but it was one of those projects that just seemed to naturally flow from a deep place within me. It was just me and my camera on this one- no other crew, lighting, set or bells and whistles to bring this one together. We only had 20 minutes to shoot the bride in the field! It was a nice reminder that good stories are told from passion and emotion.

The video was the opener to the annual fashion show to give the audience a deeper look into the thoughtful craft behind each of the dresses they were about to see on the runway. It’s always humbling seeing your work shown in front of a live crowd- 125 views on instagram feels like nothing but in person?! What a gift.
